In 1975, a small group of investors purchased a dusty, red velvet-draped dive in Bailey's
Crossroads, VA called Mac's Devil's Inn. They hoped to take advantage of the newly passed liquor-by-the-drink law in Virginia allowing bars in
restaurants for the first time. They envisioned a Georgetown-type eatery and watering hole. After gallons of paint, hours of hard work, and successful
negotiations with a then third string Redskin quarterback, Joe Theismann's Restaurant opened. It quickly became popular for its great food, friendly
service and comfortable good time. As Joe's career progressed, it also became an "I hope I see Joe himself" attraction.
